About

The St Andrews Environmental Humanities Network brings together researchers, students, and practitioners whose work engages with ecocultural issues ranging from the study of ancient landscape management and representations to investigations of contemporary sustainable behaviours and practices. The Network’s aim is to foster interdisciplinary research and teaching as well as to serve as platform to engage with the world beyond academia.

The Environmental Humanities (EH) is an interdisciplinary field of study that explores the relationships between nature and culture. It combines traditional Arts and Humanities approaches with questions and methodologies from the social and natural sciences to examine the critical intersection of social and environmental issues.
